Sequential A / Glyff
3D Moiton & Type Design, Spring ‘25

Sequential A and Glyff are motion projects exploring experimental typography and the idea of atypography. Both push the boundaries of typographic forms methods, and meaning. Sequential A began as a simple motion test and evolved into a full project. Glyff draws inspiration from that work and is conceptually rooted in both the Greek Glyphe and the Celtic/Scottish Gliff.

Glyphe: A carved or inscribed mark; a symbol used to convey meaning through form. From glyphein, meaning “to carve.” This later evolved into the commonly known glyph: a visual symbol representing a character, mark, or figure in writing systems or design. Gliff: A brief flash or sudden glimpse; also used to describe a momentary startle or scare. Rooted in the idea of a glyphe or glyph, and the fleeting flash of a gliff, the concept of Glyff came to be.
